Virgin Mobile Freefest

DC Continued:
I went to the Virgin Mobile Freefest in Columbia, MD back in October. I highly recommend this festival for everyone on the east coast, as 1) it is free (if you score a free ticket, which involves refreshing your computer at 10 AM on said friday morning), 2) it’s pretty (located at the Merriweather Post Pavilion (the Animal Collective album is named after this place!), home to tons of greenery and trees, 3) it’s free, 4) you love music and want to see some bands you hate, love and have no clue who they are 5) parking is free too. How is this possible? Good ol’ Richard Branson. My favorite set was M83, followed by Santigold and Portugal the Man.

Getting so excited for Coachella 2013!!

bughouse prints.

I’m in the phase of putting up canvas prints on my wall, apparently. A while ago I came upon these canvas prints at Mindfulnest in Santa Monica. I fell in love and decided that I must own one of these. I absolutely adore everything that BUGHOUSE makes, especially the Albums and Tapes Collection. I could fill my entire home with their prints. Here are two of my favorites. Especially loving the record player one.

Brings you back, right? Not that I was around when vinyl records were the primary source of music, but I like to pretend.

coachella memories and icloud.

Here are some more (not so good quality) photos from coachella. Annie Clark aka St. Vincent did a song with Andrew Bird in the glaring hot sun during weekend two. Radiohead doesn’t need an introduction by any means, and no- I do not think they are overrated. They were in my top 3 favorite performances each weekend (and in life!).

In other news, I just switched to iCloud (by force!) and I hate it so far. My emails don’t come in in order and I’m finding it extremely difficult to get emails when I’m not at home. Grrr. My Coachella 2012 spotify playlist is on constantly and what can I say? I just love to reminisce, even if I’m thinking about last week. :)

Coachella Round 8!

This past weekend was my 8th time attending Coachella. I feel old. It’s pretty amazing how many people attend this festival. It’s just a phenomenal experience. You have to try it once! There’s hours and hours and hours of live music by amazing artists, palm trees, a ferris wheel, record store, craft making stations, a robot that rolls around, art installations, Spicy Pie. I swear by the Spicy Pie! It’s the best pizza. Also great is the fish taco stand and Pink’s Hot Dogs.

The atmosphere is unlike any other festival I’ve been to. It’s a little city for what is now two weekends out of the year, where people from all walks of life and all over the planet co-exist. I miss it so much already! Can’t wait for next years festival(s).

Favorites Shows of Weekend 2:

1) Radiohead
2) At The Drive-In
3) St. Vincent
4) Bon Iver
5) Explosions in the Sky
6) Justice

Favorites of Weekend 1:

1) Snoop & Dr. Dre (the shock when 2Pac “arrived..”)
2) At the Drive-In
3) Radiohead
4) St. Vincent
5) Bon Iver
6) Explosions in the Sky
