Before my trip I had a lovely afternoon tea at Chado Tea Room, next to the Japanese American Museum in Little Tokyo. It is more of a modern tea room, as opposed to the other location on 3rd that seems to have more of an old-fashioned style. I sat outside on a nice day next to the Japanese fountain, along with a bridal shower (I assumed) just on the other side of the dining area. Their smoked salmon sandwich is my absolute favorite, along with a large pot of tea. I can’t remember the complete name of the tea I had, but it had the word “Monkey” in it. I’m sure that narrows it down a bit!
Their scones are served fresh and warm and taste just as good as the ones I’ve had in Londontown. You must put clotted cream on them. Mmmm!
I adore afternoon teas, and this is a great place to have a quiet afternoon lunch (it’s enough food, I swear!) with a girlfriend. Or a boyfriend. I don’t discriminate. High tea was actually meant for men anyways.
Speaking of London, Happy Diamond Jubilee to the Queen! It’s unbelievable that she has been queen for SIXTY years.
everything looks amazingly good…
