L’Assiette (I took French and still can’t pronounce it!) is a tiny little Steak Frites restaurant off Melrose (near La Brea). It’s been open for a little while but I had never been because I assumed it was an arm and leg situation.
Little did I know that I can get soup (or salad) and not one, but TWO servings of Steak Frites for $25. Anyday. And boy is it delicious. They want to make sure your food is warm – hence the two servings. I absolutely loved the decor as I felt like I was in Paris. The staff was friendly, attentive and not snobby at all. A bottle of Prosecco is around $30 and won’t break the bank. I’ll definitely be back.
There are only 3 options on the menu, Steak Frites, Poisson Frites and Portobello Frites.
Did I mention the fries are some of the best I’ve had lately? BETTER THAN IN-N-OUT! There. I said it.
