I was able to check out the Murakami Exhibit at Gagosian on it’s last day in NYC. The sculptures were my favorite pieces, namely the silver piece entitled Invoking the Vitality of a Universe Beyond Imagination. Murakami seems best known for his work with Kanye West and Louis Vuitton, but I think his personal works are clearly more extensive.
This past weekend I visited the Robolights art installation in Palm Springs. It was mind blowing – these photos really don’t do it justice. It reminded me of a Christmas haunted house. The artist Kenny Irwin Jr. created a wonderland filled with robots, lights, and music. Using anything from pool filters, microwaves, toilets and surge protectors the exhibit was larger than life in his 2 acre backyard. It’s 100% worth the day or night trip from Los Angeles.
Robolights is open 4- 9 PM Rain or Shine til 1.6.15.

I’m in desperate need of new shoe storage. They always end up in the hallway, but I think I want to make an open storage situation happen. I think I wear about 10% of all the shoes I own.
Is it too messy?

I went to the Emerge Art Fair in October and it was interesting/entertaining/fun! Particularly the mannequins (?) in rabbit suits strategically placed everywhere, and some great performance art pieces. The exhibit was at the Capitol Skyline Hotel and pieces were scattered all around, including in the underground parking garage and the walls of their diner.
