One of my favorite road trips is to Joshua Tree. It’s about 2.5 hours outside of Los Angeles and feels like it’s a world away. I rented a gorgeous AirBNB with huge outdoor area including a BBQ, jacuzzi, plunge pool, and a firepit.
We watched the Perseid Meteor Shower which was completely visible from the backyard. The most beautiful meteors and stars were visible by the naked eye!
A trip to Pioneertown was a given (meal at Pappy & Harriet’s pictured below!) – which included Baby Back Ribs and Cheese Fries. It’s nice to walk around Pioneertown while it’s still light out and to check out the little shops they have in town. I can’t wait to go back, especially when it’s not 100 degrees out!
But actually. It’s like West Hollywood. Mykonos is known as the party island, but the area we stayed at was off the beaten path near Elia Beach. We stayed at an AirBNB with it’s own infinity pool and free delicious breakfast every morning. The beach was less than a 3 minute drive away (unless we got lost). The water was crystal clear. I met Eliza the dog on our boat, how cute is she?
I recommend going to Scorpios for drinks during the day or go at night for the party/club scene. The view and atmosphere is just gorgeous. Just don’t mind the (lack of) service.
This was taken from the fisherman’s boat we rented in Mykonos for a day. This was one of the many deserted islands we stopped at for a swim. How magical does this look?
The chefs served up BBQ lamb, greek salad with a huge brick of feta we could help ourselves to and tons of sides to snack on. The bartender made the best caipiroskas all day long. Can I go back now??
Happy Halloween! I am Mary Poppins today and will be handing out spoonfuls of sugar to all.
I recently traveled to Miami for my bestie’s bachelorette party. We originally planned to go to Cabo San Lucas but unfortuntely Hurricane Odile had other plans for us. Last minute we changed it to Miami and we had a blast. We stayed at the Fontainebleau Resort – which was pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The beaches in Miami are so much warmer than LA. A few thunderstorms came through but it didn’t ruin our need to be by the pool or beach for the better half of each day.
The resort is amazing and you could easily go there and never leave the property. They have 10 pools with tons of seating, servers to bring you pina coladas and mango creamsicles (!). So delicious! We had dinner at Scarpetta on site – my foie gras and duck ravioli was TO DIE FOR. I’m super bummed I didn’t get a photo of it but believe me it was incredible. We went to LIV nightclub in the hotel as well as Nikki Beach in SoBe and Mango’s Night Club. Overall a successful bachelorette party!
I found the CUTEST, TINEST little greasy spoon restaurant just outside Joshua Tree. I squealed upon seeing the front of the place.
Anthony Bourdain went here on No Reservations, as can be seen on the wall throughout the restaurant. The cutest owners were incredibly friendly. Biscuits and gravy, eggs, corned beef hash and so much more was ordered.
There’s probably enough seats for 20 people total. The milkshakes are divine. Please stop by if you’re ever in the area!
